"COUNTESS" "COUNTESS", AKA Mara, was born in San Antonio, Texas and earned a degree in History fron the University of Virginia. She spent over 20 years in high-end specialty retailing, specializing in advertising, marketing and direct mail, spending the last 15 years of her career at Neiman Marcus. In addition to her busy professional life, she also served on several boards, most notably the Dallas chapter of DIFFA (The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS). After relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico, she took a year off to pursue personal interests. "COUNTESS" began flying in November and has just received her private pilot's license. She lives with her husband Jack, dog Lola and cat Hank in Santa Fe, where she currently serves as president of the board of Girls, Inc., the local affiliate of the national organization devoted to "inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold."
